Yesterday’s Painting of Rose and a Few More
Sometimes I just want to paint the face I look at more often than my own. This first portrait is from yesterday morning in a cold basement, repurposing a frame with cardboard print found on the side of the road.
Pretty Wife With Bangs Dammit 2022. Acrylic on side of the road frame and cardboard print of French bridge, 26 x 30"
A few years ago I went on a week retreat to paint in a room. I missed Rose and got hot:
I Want to Come Home 2018. Acrylic on panel, 16 x 20"
Same retreat:
You’re Prettier Than Graves 2018. Acrylic on paper, 12 x 16"
Rose as destroyer and creator of my heart:
Rose Throop To My Heart 2018. Acrylic on canvas, 36 x 48"
Rose in the Phlox 2016. Acrylic on panel, 36 x 48"
Rose Painting a Window Seat 2015. Acrylic on (3 panels) 11 x 14"
Rose Inside-Out 2018. Acrylic on canvas, 16 x 20"
Even My Best Friend Knows She Must Put on One Crazy Eye If We Are Going to Coexist 2020. Acrylic on paper, 12 x 16"
Thanks for the visit!

Great series. They tend to show an image of serenity, although painted with great energy.
Thank you!
If I get your meaning right, then yes, absolutely! Rose has taken my highly nervous insides and folded in a couple gallons of sweet, slow molasses. It’s an incredibly well-balanced relationship. She helps keep the energy workable, not manic, hence the positive goods— painting , cooking, writing, gardening...
Very nice balance. I recognize that in my relationship also, usually when one of us is euphoric the other is tempering and vice versa. I also suspect we do not have defined roles so much as you do, jajajaja.
Great work always so unique
Thank you! It really means a lot, especially in the dark cold of winter:)
very nice and unique and interesting painting
Thank you!
