SHORT CYCLING WEEKEND TRIP. Alicante Spain.

Last weekend Jason (@ibizaki) and I went on a cycling trip with another couple of friends. It was lovely and very challenging for me. They are all faster than me but I had a lot of fun.
We took the ferry from Ibiza to the mainland arriving in Denia that takes us 2hours.
We cycled off straight on the tracks. We cycled from 13:30h till 17:30h when we finally arrived to Castell de Castells, a small village up in the mountains. This part of the trip meant I cycled up 1000m uphill.

Then we arrived at a little hotel where we stayed the night after a nice warm supper and a good nights sleep, recovering for another intense day....
Next day we left the Hotel at about 9:30h and it was quite cold till I started going uphil! hahah!

I did´t take any pics that day, I JUST cycled to keep up with them! We arrived in a village called Cocentaina at about 15h. We had a bite to eat, a stroll then a rest till we went out for dinner in a lovely restaurant.
That night I was woken up by pain in my knees... still another day to go!

The Sunday was the longest stretch we had, to get back to the boat but most of it was downhill so it was better. 70km,
we left the village at about 9;30h and arrived at the ferry in Denia at about 15:30h On the way we had stopped for an hour to eat a sandwich.

This day the tracks were very beautiful, it was the Via Serpis that is where the old train used to go and now its a cycling/hiking route.

I really enjoyed this trip. I would have been slower but they made me go much faster that I´m used to so I guess it makes me fitter!
