Weekly Contest, "Creating Stories Week #17"| Sir Edward’s Mysterious Will | 5% for SL Charity

Sir Edward lives in a village all alone, who owns several estates for his self. Even he is born into a rich family he bought these properties because he wanted to live away from his family. No one ever new the reason for separating from his parents and siblings.

He was a silent and calm person. And very kind to the villagers. Most of the villagers worked in his estates as labors. But only time they saw he is the payday. If there is a person who knew a little about Sir Edward is his assistant who is not only the assistant but his faithful servant also.

Even he didn’t know anything about the past of his master. But Mr. John, the assistant is loyal. Do whatever he asks, without having any doubts about his decisions.

Sir Edward never married. As for the villagers he never looked at any women with a wrong impression. He is a real gentlemen. Even he is so rich and noble people couldn’t see much visitors or parties at his place. That is why he is know as a silent person.

Suddenly, he was sick and he went to his journey for the next life. With the news of it, his relatives came to show their respect and staying for few days. This is the time people got to know that Sir Edward has two brothers and a sister. It looked like they don’t want to leave the place for couple of months.

The day of reading the will of Sir Edward came. The Lawyer has informed Mr. John and relatives about the day. Everyone was very curious about what they will get. Sir Edward’s siblings are having high hopes since there was no other people who are very close to his life.

Lawyer started his work. First, Sir Edward has given 10% of his property to Mr.John. the loyal servant of his life. And 20% of property to village charity which is enough to help the whole village. Everyone in the room is exited to hear about the rest of 70%. He may have given it all to brothers and sister.

No! Sir Edward has given the rest of 70% and his house to Miss. Amie. The orphan girl in the village. Who lives with an old women. This girl is little bit out of normal. May be because she grew up without parents. And no one in the village is cruel to her, but no one wants to be friendly with her. The only person talked to her was Sir Edward. He stopped by each time he passes that house.

Everyone had problems about this decision of Sir Edward. She is too young to be a mistress. In other way, Sir Edward is not such a person. But he has left the reasons. He has left a letter to Amie in his office. Everyone started to search for it. It says only she can open and read it. They started to argue, Sir Edwards sister wanted to open it without Amie knowing, but Sir Edward’s elder brother insisted to bring her and let her read the letter to everyone.

You may be surprised to hear that this kind old man who listened to you always has left his property to you. I am sorry. Please forgive this old man. I should have take care of you while I can. I have abandoned you. I was so afraid to get close. I thought the same thing happened to your mother will happen if I get close. I was afraid that they will find you and harm you.
