# WoX photo challenge .:. Post processing #11
Today I participate in 'Post processing' challenge again. (If you are fond of the subject, and wanna jump on this, check more details and rules for the contest here). This week we were given a curious prompt: we should create a photo-puzzle, using our own photos and digital manipulation. So, your goal is: a) enjoy the visuals, and b) try to solve the puzzle: make a guess what is it, that you see in the picture.

На этой неделе нам дали любопытную вводную: мы должны загадать фото-загадку, используя собственные фотографии и цифровые манипуляции с ними. А вашей целью будет: а) насладиться красотами, и б) попытаться решить головоломку: угадать, что именно вы видите на картинке.

Hint. This is a mix of two photos, one decent-sized thingie that anybody have in his flat (cropped to eliminate the very recognizable shape), and a texture added. In my opinion, if you can guess correct which thing is shown here, or which texture - i.e. which thing was used as a texture mask - then you've nailed it.

Update. Revealing the cards!
Final image! I cropped it a bit, to eliminate the most recognizable shape of a book. I hoped that what would be left (view of the book block, pages) would be enough to guess, but... alas. I admit, the task turned out to be complicated and not solvable!
Firstly, I should note that several people have made a good progress in solving my photo-mystery: @apnigrich and @bambuka correctly identified the tricky texture of a wood eaten by woodworm larvae. The second part turned out to be too "ghostly" to identify, although @weisser-rabe seemed to be the closest, suggesting that it is "something printed on paper, very transparent made". Yes, it really was something paper: books are printed on paper.
Во-первых я должен отметить, что несколько человек отлично продвинулись в решении моей фото-загадки: @apnigrich и @bambuka правильно идлентифицировали хитрую текстуру поеденного личинками жуков-вдревоточцев дерева. Вторая часть оказалась слишком "призрачной" для идентификации, хотя кажется @weisser-rabe оказался ближе всех, предполагая что это "something is printed on paper, very transparent made". Да, это действительно было нечто бумажное - книги печатают на бумаге.
To create my image I used two separate photos you see below: the book, and the wooden texture.

Some adjustments were made along the way, my usual fave 'overlay' effect was used to mix both layers in photoshop. It was a pretty fast-getting effect, without a lot of takes and trials -- of course if you know where you are going to. Hope my experience was helpful for your know-how piggy bank!
А разве это не поверхность доски, боевна, дерева, с ходами короеда? В центре была кладка, а потом они начали расползаться во все стороны.
Всё верно, 1/2 так, текстура именно дерева поеденного короедом. А на что она наложена, разглядеть не удалось?

I know what kind of texture it is by 150%, but what kind of thing is covered with this texture...
I can even see the profile of the cup on the saucer, but I don't think it's the same thing. This is rather a coincidence of a random contour with a familiar object :)
It remains to unravel the soul mate...
Что это за текстура я знаю на 150%, но что за вещь покрыта этой текстурой...
Я даже вижу профиль чашки на блюдце, но не думаю, что это та самая вещь. Это скорее совпадение случайного контура со знакомым предметом :)
Осталось разгадать вторую половинку ...
Да,возможно что я перестарался и дал чересчур невыполнимое задание. Ну, это не страшно,значит сам себе навредил, никто даже и не попытается выдвинуть версии :/

...не, ну со следами личинки под корой (на коре) это просто, если кто их хоть раз видел)) Это текстура, а вот что за предмет, который есть во многих домах... мебель ли или что ещё... тут затык для меню ))
Кажется это пейзаж, на который наложили фактуру дерева))
Или все наоборот)
утверждение на 1/2 истинно... но пейзажа тут нет совсем. так что тепло, даже почти горячо! 😉😂
