The post goes for 'Photo of the week' weekly photo-challenge by @mister-omortson — week #96. The prompt was: 'Ruins'.

Yesterday I already made one post on this topic, but those ruins did not seem very convincing to me: "The pipe is lower, the smoke is thicker." And today I remembered a couple of very convincingly destroyed crypts / chapels / tombs, photographed in the necropolis of the Novodevichy Convent in St. Petersburg. Until 1917, it was one of the most expensive and elite cemetery, where the city's elite - aristocrats, generals and admirals - were buried. Then the entire cemetery was destroyed, and only ruins remained of the former splendor - but even today there is something to see and photograph here.

Вчера я уже сделал один пост на эту тему, но те руины мне самому показались не слишком убедительными: "Труба пониже, дым пожыже". А сегодня я вспомнил про парочку очень убедительно разрушенных склепов / часовен / усыпальниц, сфотографированных в некрополе Новодевичьего женского монастыря Санкт-Петербурга. До 1917 года это было одно самое дорогое и элитное кладбище, на котором хоронили городскую элиту - аристократов, генералов и адмиралов. Потом все кладбище было разрушено, и от былого великолепия остались только руины - но и сегодня тут есть на что посмотреть и сфотографировать.
