This photo is amazing @qwerrie…I love Christmas time, and St. Petersburg did a fantastic job decorating the streets…and the snow just adds so much to it.
thank you, glad you like the visual. btw, it is not the best example of investments that municipals waste every year :P some central streets and squares get much more decorations. (and this is the avenue leading from airport directly to the historical center of the city). I promise to take more captures this December!
I totally understand that…cities using public money to decorate, when they could be feeding the hungry or repairing infrastructure...but it does make people feel good though :)
yes, apparently so! one one hand, but on another hand. pros and contras. for a tourist city like ours, it is rather yes than no. the folks do not object. but still, some cases of shameless squandering of money down the drain cannot but be condemned :)))
