WoX photo #114 .:. high-rise

The photo shows a pretty common object from the urban environment: a lighting post... but said post, of course, is not that common, it is not a standard configuration: this certain design and significantly above average dimensions were developed especially for the soviet era PSKK Sports Palace (which sadly was demolished at the end of 2019; this loss is a separate story full of drama). Occasionally photographing CCM, I never thought I was capturing it for the future...

On this particular walk, I was armed with my first wide-angle lens and of course 146% enjoyed the wide angle and distortion. Finally I was able to take interesting photographs of architecture and cityscapes, as opposed to the narrow possibilities that gave me the 50mm and 300mm that I had before. By the way, as you can see here, Sigma 12-24mm lens is not designed for a full-size camera, the vignetting at the corners of the frame is monstrous! it can hardly even be called "vignetting", the lens simply does not cover most part of the frame. A bit unusual result, many folks even like this, considering it as a fresh and independent artistic solution.
