Plastic Ocean
Hello my dear Steemians,
This is the new account “Planetwild” that is running by @stef1 and @myskye. With the help of this account is we would like to collect Steem in order to support the great Initiative of people behind the PlanetWild project. That's why I'm going to post one post a day so that we can collect reward and donate for the project. Everything we get together here (Steem, SBD, SP) goes to the project. Then let's see what we can achieve here...
Today I'm coming back to the topic of plastic waste in the oceans. It's shocking how much trash actually ends up in the oceans, destroying the natural life there. We all contribute to this pollution but it is in our hands do something about it. Not everything has to be shrink-wrapped in plastic or triple-packed. Here in Scotland there is even no deposit bottles no matter if they are made of glass or plastic, the plastic ones are all just thin disposable bottles to throw away.
Something needs to be change here, isn't it?
If possible, buy reusable bottles and avoid plastic packaging... And please don't use plastic bags!
Humans have relied on the oceans for thousands of years. They have provided us with food, trade and travel, and are a crucial part of our development and survival. The ocean's abundance of biodiversity is also critical to all three pillars of sustainable development; economic, social and environmental. A healthy ocean, and the marine ecosystems within, support a healthy planet…

Consumers are becoming more aware of micro-plastics—but there’s another huge elephant in the room: the Great Pacific Garbage Patch—and what it means for the deep sea. And it’s exactly as bad as it sounds. So take a deep breath and read on!
