SORRY : CONTEST.
Sorry is a word used when one accepts that they have wronged someone and they wish to let them know that they regret their actions. This word has more meaning when it is said genuinely. When said just because you feel that someone wants to hear it, then it is selfish as it shows you are not regretful of your actions and you are just trying to get the person off your back.
Sorry does not have to be said only when one has done wrong. It can be said to someone if something bad has happened to them. Sorry has a powerful effect, one can see this amongst children. When something bad happens to children they can cry without ceasing till someone tells them 😁 sorry and then they will stifle their tears till they stop crying. Same happens for adults to like when one loses a loved one, when one is involved in accidents etc. A simple phrase like “I am sorry about happened to you”, can show that you truly care about them and they will appreciate it.
Sorry can soothe hearts that are ranging with anger, sorry can clear tears away, sorry can mend broken relationships, sorry also makes you, the person in wrong to be accountable for your actions. You can’t be saying sorry all the time as you have to change your actions for the better so you do not repeat the same mistakes over again and use saying “sorry” as an escape route.
Sorry is a simple word but has a powerful effect if used correctly. For one to say sorry genuinely, they have to first reflect on their actions and see where they went wrong. Sometimes one can easily know through the reactions of the people they have hurt, as they will notice that they are angry or even hurt. Sometimes the people that have been wronged may even approach you as you may be going about life normally without knowing your actions hurt somebody therefore it is really nice for someone to speak up in such instances because it gives you an opportunity to right the wrong.
After reflection, one has to choose their words correctly and approach the person they have wronged and show them that they regret their actions and wish to be forgiven. However, just because you say sorry does not mean that you will be forgiven, as sometimes the hurt is too much therefore the person wronged has to take their time to heal and hopefully forgive you in the process. Do not in any case feel entitled to their forgiveness but just do your part.
