Fishing Boat Building in Aceh

Aceh is a country that is rich in natural products, one of which is the marine sector. Around one hundred thousand tons of fish have spread to various areas in Sumatra and in the archipelago every year.

The majority of fish that are often produced are tuna, anchovies, selayang and so on.

Today I want to try to share some unique pictures about making Aceh fishing boats from the ground up. Starting from the initial construction build.

Generally, Aceh fishing boats are made of quality wood such as deer antler trees, mane trees, sea resin trees and also stone meranti trees. This type of wood has become rare now, and the price is very expensive.

This fishing boat is 6.5 meters wide, 23 meters long and 2.5 meters deep. This ship measures 60 GT.

The construction of this ship cost approximately 3 billion Indonesian rupiah.
