#club5050 Sunday Lunch Out
We parked at Church Lane, right by St Mary’s Church here in Lincolnshire yesterday.
Smoked salmon bruschetta with lemon, red onions, cress and baby capers, one of the starters.

This is where my family and I had a very tasty Sunday lunch. On the way here we drove past a village called Norton Disney.

Twelve of us went to a traditional pub here, ten adults, two children and no dogs although well behaved pets were entirely welcomed.

The pub was tastefully decorated with colourful pieces of art. There was something of interest for everyone from two to sixty-five years of age.

We all ordered starters which were served in Churchill’s plates. Most of us went for the smoked salmon bruschetta dressed with lemon, baby capers, cress and red onions.

We enjoyed looking at our food being prepared right in from of us. Some of the regular customers even spoke to the kitchen staff and complimented the food they had today.
Cauliflower cheese, one of the side dishes.

All of us placed an order for the traditional Sunday roast. Most of us chose the recommended thirty day dry-aged British beef.

Others went for the roast chicken supreme. It was all served with Yorkshire puddings which turned out to be the kids favourites. There were also roast carrots, parsnips, shredded garlic cabbage, potatoes and lots of gravy.
We even did a little pub quiz all about the British Isles, its culture and history. The questions asked around included various subjects like celebrities, politics, music and TV.
On the way back to our lodge we witnessed a very pretty sunset. There was even a rainbow as it just stopped raining.

There was a pheasant on the road but when you have your driving lessons they tell you not to brake for animals. We still did as there wasn’t even a single other vehicle on the road at all.
Cheers and have fun every day of the week whatever you choose to do.
That all looks very posh for a traditional pub 😧
Was Pheasant on the menu too?
I expected a bit more from the interior to be honest. When we walked in there were no other customers having lunch and as it was the first time for all of us eating here it was a bit worrying. But then we figured out that 1pm is a rather early lunch here and the food served was totally worth it. There was no pheasant on the menu but we saw more than just the one on the way back so I was to maybe cook one for tea that evening. There was also roast pork loin and vegetarian, Lincolnshire of course, sausages on the menu. One of the kids got the halloumi salad but it wasn't their best starter. The desserts were great, especially the raspberry and apple crumble and the sticky toffee pudding.
I'd say 1pm is quite a late lunch - perhaps everybody had already eaten and left 🙂
Which dessert did you go for? I love sticky toffee pudding, especially with Ice Cream. Yum yum yum
The sticky toffee pudding was the best, served with ice-cream. Believe it or not I didn’t get a dessert. I was in the middle of a conversation when I briefly looked at the waitress taking dessert orders, I felt interrupted and I just said no thanks. Then puddings were served and everybody else was enjoying theirs whilst two of us had nothing. But I tried the crumble and the yummy sticky, really sticky toffee pudding which was the size of nearly two scones. Creme brûlée was also an option so I might have been tempted to order it as it is something that is not often on the menu.
🤔 I expect nothing less 🤣
That's an acceptable size. Assuming they were big scones.
They were just a little bit smaller actually and were certainly not made for sharing. I hope you are well and the storms haven't really affected you. I guess you are looking forward to another day to yourself tomorrow.
I don't think I've ever come across food made for sharing. No food that is placed in front of me is made for sharing, that's for sure.
I am home alone now 🙂 The in-laws stayed for the last few days and I've been unwell but there's no way I'm spending a day to myself in bed. Not all of it anyway 🤣
Perhaps I'll do some ironing and then a bit of coding. The coding's not going very well.
Oh dear. I really hope that you feel better any time soon. I am pleased that @coding-gorilla has been trying to not just come up with a new sexy front-end but to make all this work for the creative contributors only and keep the scammers out. It is always darkest before the dawn. I smiled when I saw the screenshot featuring my posts. The front-end looks unique and I can't wait to see it on my screen too. I love the idea of a VIP club based on the people who work hard here. We can even throw a white party once this all goes ahead. Cheers to the future. I better go and make some bread now so I am not just having bacon and brie for lunch.
As for the storms, funnily enough, it hasn't seemed much windier than usual!!
I like the paw your dog a pint photo! It’s very fun and the food for humans looks very tasty as well.
Thank you ever so much @hazyjames I took this dog pint photo on my way in. I even had to move a huge broom which was right behind the keg. Undoubtedly both pets and their owners would have a really nice time dining in here.
Hello! How delicious the food they tasted looks. I've never tried it, but now I'm dying to! Excellent photos, many successes.
Greetings my friend @carlaisl The food was fabulous and we all enjoyed it. One of the kids even finished everything on his plate which is rather unusual and they both had pudding. I am really glad that you like my photos as especially food photography is something that I really want to master and I hopefully have an eye for.
I’m sold. Lincolnshire or bust!
Hi my friend, there's nothing like spending a wonderful Sunday with your loved ones :) The presentation of the dishes looks very nice, I'm sure they taste delicious too. The dish says definitely take its picture :D The trees visible through the car window are almost like a painting by Bob Ross :) Art-friendly restaurants are very attractive. I liked that the photos on the wall are both independent and integrity. May the number of such special and beautiful days be plentiful :)
