#club5050 Beefy Mary

in WORLD OF XPILAR3 years ago

Many of you have probably heard of her sister, the Bloody Mary. The original is a long vodka based cocktail. It is reddish due to the tomato juice which fills the glass to the brim and and it is spicy as there is tabasco sauce in it. It comes with a celery stick which you can easily give it a stir with. Sometimes they add baby gherkins or even a flambé chilli pepper. It reminds me of the cold soup, gazpacho with a dash of alcohol in it.

I have always been a fan of Bloody Mary but last night I went beefy for the first time. It has an extra shot of gravy and a smoky finish. I liked it and I certainly see myself making it at home when the barbecue is on. This signature cocktail was priced at £5 which for Central London is a bargain. There was no happy hour on a Sunday evening.

The restaurant was buzzing with diners, some blending in more than others with the vintage atmosphere. The music was on, properly on and I never mind a little party night out.

Most of the female customers had blond hair and wore pink outfits finished with a whitish coat and a mini shoulder bag. So did I. We all got the dress code memo. I even saw my dream designer, bright but not neon, green bag with a thick short shoulder strap. I loved it because it wasn’t the usual black, brown or pinkish. I might put it on my birthday list which I actually haven’t even started.

The service which they charge you extra for was friendly and efficient without overwhelming you with attention. We went for the recommended all in Sunday roast dinner that requires a minimum of two adults, which was just as well. The food unfortunately arrived at the same time as the cocktails and the red wine which wasn’t ideal. But then having noticed that the three girls sat near us had to wait nearly an hour for the very same meal I felt lucky.

The all in is the classic Sunday roast which includes nearly everybody’s favourite beef, my personal favourite lamb which I didn’t forget to request mint sauce for and pork with crispy crackling. There was a giant Yorkshire pudding and unlimited gravy. Roast potatoes nested happily in the Yorkshire pudding, surrounded by rosemary carrots and kale. The all in Sunday roast was priced at £22 per person which having in mind the top Central London location counts as reasonable.

We didn’t order pudding after this enormous meal but an Asian mum and her three skinny teenagers attempted to devour a whole tray of white chocolate cheesecake. The entire tray contained twelve pieces. I was not surprised when they were defeated and left with a doggie bag, pink as well like the preferred outfit of the girls and some of the boys here last night.

Halloumi in pita bread with salad and sweet potato chips was on the menu here tonight which made total sense after last night’s feast. What about you? Any Monday easy-peasy home-cooked creations?

Hola amiga, me gusta la foto de los platos vacíos al final porque significa que disfrutaron la comida y nada se desperdició, también me gusta la calle Carnaby, es muy colorida.
Gracias por compartirlo, saludos amiga ☺️
