VENISON JERKY
We love making this!
When deer hunting season arrives, I like to try to at least harvest some to provide meat for my family. This doesn't always work, but some years I am successful. This season, I've already successfully harvest one. Interestingly enough, by using meat that some hunters just throw away, we can enjoy some excellent jerky.
In these photos, we show off some thin strips that we made when we scraped the skin, and also some that we made from the rib meat. We try to get all that we can out of an animal when we harvest it, and this is a great way to use some of the smaller, thinner pieces of meat, especially when you consider the price of jerky at the store. Check it out, and enjoy the photos!
