Back to the woods we go!

The time has come once again to return to the woods and spend a week camping on our land. We're just getting started, but we're off to a good start. We've chosen to reuse our previous camping once again, as it has served us well in the past.

LET THE CAMPING BEGIN

We needed to clear the large sticks and branches from the area, so we'd have a spot to set up the tent and remove the trip hazards as well. These fallen branches will serve as our campfire wood this week, so we'll be able to help clean up the forest floor as well.

After raking a spot clear to remove debris and sticks, it was time to tarp our campsite. This'll help prevent the bottom of the tent from tearing, and give us another layer of defense against anything at the ground level that may want to attack us. We'll set the tent up directly over the tarp.

With the help of the children, the tent was set up and our new (temporary) home took shape. This tent was gifted to us by some friends, and it has served us well. It is a good size for our entire family, and even has a dividing wall inside if we need it. We'll see how this week goes, but we're optimistic and excited!
