[Club75] Enchanted City - Prague 💫 🌌 🏰 🇨🇿
Today I will share with you my last holiday abroad before the pandemic. Unfortunately, our concept of vacation has changed a lot since then. This was my last trip to Prague in December 2019 to visit my dear friend @enveng. Thanks to this, I had the chance to visit my best friend @enveng, who was living in Prague at that time and to see the fascinating city of Prague, which I had never visited before. This must be what they call two birds with one stone.
Prague is a city that I will definitely want to visit again in the future. This city full of art and history deserves to be visited again and again. I would definitely recommend it to anyone considering going. Prague has a lot to talk about. I will try to share my experience with you, but whatever we can say about this beautiful city will be incomplete.
One of the symbols of Prague is undoubtedly the Charles Bridge. This historical bridge was built in the 13th century and is half a kilometer long. The bridge also connects Prague Castle with the old city of Prague. In addition, another feature that makes the bridge so famous is the Baroque sculptures built on the bridge.
Of course, when the bridge is so popular and touristic, it is almost impossible to catch the bridge alone. Some photographers were visiting the bridge in the early hours of the day just to take pictures of this bridge without people. I couldn't wake up early in the morning because I was a total sleeper. However, I am sharing a photo I found on the internet for you.
Due to its location on the bridge, it was a location that I visited many times during my visit to Prague. Of course, every time I go to this bridge, I am impressed again.
Even on the bridge, the view of the city looks great. It is possible to watch the scenery here for hours without getting bored. However, since my time was limited, of course, I tried to explore different parts of the city. One of my biggest advantages in this regard was being with my friend who knew the city very well. For this reason, we used our time much more efficiently.
Another important symbol of the city is the Astronomical Clock located in the Old Town Square. Here, just like on the Charles Bridge, it is almost impossible to catch this historical time alone.
What makes the clock so special is that it is the oldest working clock in the world. This clock is not just an ordinary clock, it is also an engineering marvel. While the clock shows the hours of the day, it also acts as a calendar. Not only that, the watch also has a zodiac dial. It offers a lot of astronomical information for those who can read.
Our next stop is the famous John Lennon Wall. Graffiti is drawn on this wall after the assassination of John Lennon. The wall represents love and peace. "All You Need Is Love" is written on the wall in different languages ❤️❤️.
As a Turk visiting Prague, I particularly wanted to go to Cafe Slavia, the cafe frequently visited by Nazım Hikmet, one of the most important poets of our country. In addition to the great ambiance of the cafe, the flavors I tasted in the cafe were also great. Also, I was happy to see Nazım Hikmet corner in the cafe.
My dear friend @enveng recommended me to watch the movie Anthropoid before coming to Prague. The movie is a successful drama inspired by a true story. The church where this sad story takes place is also located in Prague. And in memory of those who lost their lives in that battle, the bottom of the cathedral was turned into a monument.
During my time here, I was overwhelmed with sadness. I wish this was just a movie script, but unfortunately, it was a true story.
Since we went to Prague in the winter season, we got a lot of cold on this trip. However, even though we went during the coldest time of the year, we also went at a special time. Before Christmas, this city was beautiful. The city's lighting and Christmas mood made me feel like I was in a fantasy movie.
We visited lots of candy shops with my dear friend. It's a dream come true🍭🍬🍫 And Trdelnik, Czechia's famous dessert, was one of the most delicious things I ate. You can sweeten the Trdelnik to your taste. I chose the one with cream and strawberry. However, a Trdelnik was too much even for a sweet lover like me, maybe it would be a good idea to share this dessert with your friend.
Finally, I would like to conclude my article with a wonderful view of this beautiful city. Hope to visit this magical city one more day...
