Steemit Economy. Current Trends.

in WORLD OF XPILAR3 years ago (edited)

Hello! I invite you to read another boring article full of numbers.

Recently, xpilar raised the topic of the future of Steemit. This article provoked heated discussions, and not only in the comments to the post. One such discussion discussed the economy of Steemit, suggesting different options for where it is now moving.

I decided not to assume, but to see the fact.

Everyone knows that you can act on the platform in two different ways:

  • write a post and wait until someone likes it;
  • or delegate your SP to the bot and have a stable income from each post.

The latter option is becoming increasingly popular. And when I looked at the Korean community, it was just a total phenomenon. Some are opposed to this model, and here's why:

By analogy, Steem is a game system where users compete for attention and rewards by bringing content and adding value to the platform.

That is, if users use bots to earn more, then "simple" authors get less, and vice versa.

Some people are alarmed by the fact that bots are gaining more and more power. Authors who use them do not need to write something interesting, because their post will be voted on in any case. Therefore, the platform is filled with plagiarism or frankly low-quality posts. And these authors are making more and more money, while the artist who worked on the painting for a week and exhibited it on Steemit can't break the 2-cent barrier.

Is that so? Are bots really gaining strength? Let's take a look.

I took the statistics of effective steem power for the last 7 months and 7 days. It is taken from here.

I summarized the SP of all the bots I know (and there are more), as well as steemcurator and booming accounts. Let's look at the dynamics of change SP:

I want to note that during this period the current STEM supply increased by 3.5%, and the power of bots:

Do you think this is a problem for the future of Steemit or vice versa, a guarantee of further development? I will be glad to hear your thoughts.

I don't think we're too far from this now. I'd even argue that with club5050, we're already in competition to mine steemcurator upvotes.
