My Impressions of 100 Days In Steemit

It's been 100 days since I signed up for Steemit. Such a small anniversary led me to write my impressions of this platform.

First of all, I want to say that Steemit is full of friendly people, thanks to whom you want to be here and add something. They advised how to increase the quality of my posts, how to increase the effectiveness of my growth on the platform, but most importantly, they create interesting content and the atmosphere that prevails here.

This concludes my praise of Steemit and I want to criticize it a bit. There are almost no critical posts, so I'm a little scared :)

After a hundred days of using the platform, I got the impression that the Steemit development team is either very small with limited resources, or quite inert and pays more attention to some other projects. This impression is due to several observations.

Problems loading Steemit pages

Recently for a long time we have all observed that Steemit works with problems. Sometimes it was impossible to even load the page. This happens with all services, but not for three weeks. Imagine, for example, Facebook, which would barely breathe for three weeks. There's a team of developers who fix any glitches in a matter of hours.

Obviously, the problems with loading pages and the operation of various services are problems with the operation of servers. How can a platform that allows people to make money and that itself "prints" money not buy powerful servers?

Search in Steemit

Finding posts or users on Steemit is just awful. It gives either not the results you are looking for, or writes that nothing was found for your query. It would be better to implement a search from Google here.

Number of users

I'm a beginner. Despite this, my profile rating is 16,542. Only 16,000 users have the highest rating! This is very little. This platform should number in the millions.

Apparently, Steemit had a hard time with the transition of thousands of users to Hive. It is now noticeable that the activity on the platform is growing, but it is also obvious that more advertising is needed.

There is a community where users report their efforts in advertising Steemit. But what efforts do platform owners make for advertising? Is there really not enough money for this?

Justin San

It is clear that Justin Sun, buying Steemit had a business plan. When a person buys a business, he usually first invests in that business, brings it to the level at which he wants to see it, and then reaps the fruits of his labor.

After purchasing Steemit, everything that has changed here, Tron has been added to users' wallets. I did not see any more work of the new owners. I think the reason is the community's rejection of the new owner and the transition of many users to Hive.

It seems that Steemit for Justin San is like a suitcase without a handle. And it's hard to carry, and it's a shame to throw it away.

I have something to compare. I have been trading cryptocurrency on the Poloniex exchange since 2017. I witnessed the changes that took place on this exchange after it was bought out by Justin Sun. It is clear that efforts and resources are being invested in this exchange.

Interface

I had to meet on the Internet screenshots of Steemit pages made a few years ago. It seems that the interface of the platform has not changed since launch.

Administration activity

Could such a large social platform as Steemit have only Crypto Academy among the important messages? There should be a dozen projects to be conducted by the platform's administration.

During my stay here, there was only one new support project, # club5050. I am convinced that the administration could more effectively stimulate the growth of SP users who are working on their growth, rather than simply withdrawing money.

Conclusions

Steemit is a great platform where I hope to stay forever. However, it is made great by users, ie people who create posts, people who are moderators and community administrators.

At the same time, the efforts of the platform administration to improve Steemit, to advertise it, to attract new users, to transform Steemit into a global large social platform are not visible.

These are just my impressions, and they can be wrong.

That rating that you see is based on the amount to SP that you hold in your wallet. Basically, it's the influence that you have over here. There are a lot of users who have delegated their SP to community accounts. So, their effective SP is much higher in reality.

So, in reality, there are way more people who are currently ranked higher than your account. If everyone removes their delegation, the true number would be seen.

Thanks for the clarification. After writing the post, I saw that most users delegate their SP to a service like UPVU.
