No one knows the details of anything except they are informed. Getting the right information about anything would give someone an idea of what they are getting into. I have seen this contest as a medium of promoting Steemit, and indeed, the Steem family is worth promoting.

Years ago, I joined my fellow Steem family in promoting Steem on the street, in markets, churches, and within the neighborhood. It was fun and interesting, although I didn't stop there; promoting Steem is what I do wherever and whenever. We just have to let people know about Steem, and the Steemit family is a family anyone would wish to join. There's a lot here!

Steemit is not a get-rich-quick platform, and there isn't a thing like an endless supply of money. You can gain popularity by spending hours creating quality content, and you may be lucky to receive a $100 vote if you work for a while.

This long description explains it all. At least whoever is joining would know they need patience to get what they've been told about.

We can't stop promoting Steem; it's the only way to let people know of it's existence.
