For me the end does not justify the means! Given the idea that his attention is good but his ways of achieving it is bad will not result to a good outcome. It is not always good to sacrifice ones happiness to the sadness of the majority/group not even sacrificing and killing mother nature for your own satisfaction. What a stupid action. I have no right to condemned him or prosecute him but he will answer to his own action!
