Greek mythology Digital illustration | The enchantress [Final illustration]
Hello everyone, long time no see! This past week was a little hectic for me, so I apologize for not being very active.
But I am back and today I am sharing with you the final version of my latest illustration about Circe.
I have already talked about the role of Circe in The Odyssey, in which she turned Ulysses's men into pigs after they arrived on her island. This is the most well known myth about her, and she is mostly perceived as a villainous character. However, I recently started to read Circe, by Madeline Miller, which is a retelling of Homer's poem, and it reveals a much more complex and paradoxal character.
I hope you enjoy my interpretation of this goddess/witch.
Thanks for viewing!
I am adding a couple of beautiful paintings which were a great source of inspiration:
Circe, by Wright Barker
Circe Offering the Cup to Ulysses, by John William Waterhouse
Usual progress pictures:
Wooooww me encantó...!!
Muchísimas gracias :)
