Tunan Waterfall || WOX TRAVEL CONTEST - WEEK 10
Tunan waterfall is a natural tourists waterfall with quite beautiful scenery, adequate facilities, and good maintenance. It's one of the tourist attractions in North Minahasa, alongside the Likupang Priority Tourism.
Tunan waterfall is located in the village of Talawaan, North Minahasa Regency, North Sulawesi. Getting to the waterfall is very easy, With the help of Google Maps, you can easily find the location. It takes about 1 hour drive from Manado.

This visit is my second time at Tunan waterfall, after a considerable period. I returned because I was still curious about this spot. I had visited during the dry season, so the water flow was very low.
I used Google Maps to find the fastest route. I started my journey from Airmadidi, and it took around 30 minutes to reach Dimembe Intersection, Likupang. From the direction of Sukur Likupang, I turned left onto Kolongan Road, just after the Dimembe Police Station. Then, I turned right at the intersection leading to Talawaan village. Signposts to the location were already in place, making it easy to follow.
About 15 minutes from the village road, I passed through coconut and fruit plantations with a smooth asphalt road, ensuring I was on the right track. When I reached the end of the paved road, I found a spacious parking area and a raised house. Not far from the parking area, there was a ticket booth for entry. The entrance fee was only 10,000 rupiahs per person or 4 steem for a four-wheeled vehicle. Quite affordable for a natural tourist spot with adequate facilities.
From the ticket booth, I continued for about 10 minutes along a forested footpath, enjoying the refreshing sounds of birds, Cicadidae Orchestra and the distant roar of the waterfall. I crossed a small, clear river along the way. I met several visitors who were heading back. There were quite a few visitors that day, evident from the number of motorcycles and a few cars in the parking area.
Upon reaching the location, we were greeted by the spray of mist from the waterfall, which was flowing quite strongly this time. During the dry season when there's been little rain, the water flow at Tunan waterfall is minimal, reducing the grandeur of this approximately 84-meter-high waterfall.
As I was taking pictures, I was surprised by a familiar voice. It turned out that a friend from the photography community was also here to take photos. It was quite a strange coincidence. We took various photos with different compositions at the location.
The waterfall's panorama was truly refreshing, providing a relaxing experience for the mind. I prepared my camera to capture the beauty of the waterfall from various angles. It was a bit challenging to find a good angle due to the crowd of visitors, but I managed to get some photos, which you can see below.

Tunan waterfall is a must-visit spot for landscape photographers in North Sulawesi because of its easy accessibility and good facilities.

Air Terjun Tunan adalah Air Terjun yang alami dan Memiliki panorama yang cukup indah, fasilitas yang cukup lengkap dan cukup terawat. Air terjun tunan adalah salah satu primadona pariwisata di Minahasa Utara selain Wisata Prioritas Likupang.
Air Terjun Tunan berada di Desa Talawaan, kabupaten Minahasa Utara, Provinsi Sulawesi Utara. Untuk menuju Lokasi air terjun tunan ini cukup mudah, cukup dengan menggunakan Google maps anda akan menemukan lokasinya. Jika anda berangkat dari Manado dapat di tempuh dengan perjalanan sekitar 1 jam perjalanan.

Kunjungan kali ini adalah yang kedua kalinya saya lakukan di air terjun Tunan, setelah cukup lama. Saya kembali karena masih penasaran dengan spot ini, sebelumnya saya datang ketika musim kemarau sehingga debit air saat ini sangat sedikit.
Saya menggunakan Google maps untuk membantu saya menemukan rute tercepat. Saya memulai perjalanan dari tempat tinggal saya di Airmadidi, butuh waktu sekitar 30 menit untuk tiba di Pertigaan Dimembe, Likupang. Dari Arah Sukur Likupang saya mengambil jalan ke Kiri menuju jalan Kolongan tepat setelah kantor Polisi Dimembe, kemudian berbelok kanan ketika menjumpai Pertigaan ke arah desa talawaan, dari desa talawaan petunjuk jalan menuju lokasi sudah terpasang, sehingga saya tinggal mengikutinya petunjuk jalan yang tertera.
Sekitar 15 menit dari jalan desa saya melewati perkebunan kelapa dan buah-buahan warga dengan jalan aspal yang sangat mulus menuju lokasi sehingga saya yakin bahwa saya tidak tersesat.
Saat tiba di ujung jalan beraspal saya menjumpai lokasi tempat parkir yang cukup luas, dan sebuah rumah panggung, tidak jauh dari tempat parkir terdapat pos untuk tiket menuju lokasi, Tiket masuk perorang hanya 10ribu saja atau 4 steem untuk kendaraan roda empat. Cukup murah untuk suatu lokasi wisata alam dengan fasilitas yang cukup memadai.
Dari Pos tiket saya melanjutkan perjalanan sekitar 10 menit menyusuri jalan setapak melewati pepohonan rindang khas hutan tropis, sangat menyegarkan sesekali terdengar suara kicauan burung dan orkestra nyanyian Tongkeret, dari kejauhan suara jatuhan air yang cukup deras mulai terdengar, sesekali saya melewati sungai kecil dengan air yang bening.
Saya berjumpa dengan beberapa pengunjung yang akan kembali, Cukup banyak pengunjung memang pada hari itu, sudah terlihat mulai dari parkiran dengan banyaknya motor dan beberapa mobil.
Begitu tiba di lokasi kita di sambut dengan cipratan embun dari air terjun yang tertiup angin, airnya cukup deras kali ini, namun di saat musim kering ketika hujan lama tidak turun debit air Air Terjun tunan akan sangat minim, sehingga mengurangi kemegahan dan keindahan dari air terjun setinggi kurang lebih 84 meter ini.
Belum lama saya mengambil gambar, saya di kagetkan dengan suara yang cukup Familiar, ternyata kenalan saya dari komunitas fotografi juga akan mengambil foto di lokasi ini, sungguh kebetulan yang aneh. Kamipun mengambil Beberapa foto dengan komposisi yang bervariasi di lokasi ini.
Panorama air terjun ini sungguh menyejukkan mata, membuat pikiran menjadi rileks. Saya menyiapkan kamera untuk mengabadikan keindahan air terjun ini dengan beberapa komposisi. Agak sulit memang mencari angle yang cukup baik karena pengunjung cukup ramai. Namun saya berhasil mendapatkan beberapa foto yang bisa anda lihat di bawah ini
Air terjun Tunan adalah salah satu spot fotografi wajib para Landscaper yang berkunjung di Sulawesi Utara, karena selain mudah ditemukan, air terjun ini juga termasuk memiliki medan yang paling mudah dan fasilitas yang cukup lengkap.

This Tunan waterfall is fabolos and the photos are as always top notch. Your detailed description provides a very good sense of what to expect when visiting this stunning place.
It's interesting to note the difference in water flow during the dry season and how the waterfall's grandeur is affected by the amount of rainfall, it's good to put that kind of info for the userse, because most people don't know how waterfalls exactly work. It's great that you had the opportunity to capture the beauty of the waterfall and even ran into a friend from the photography community, which i guess makes it fun and enjoyable experience.
