In my previous post, https://steemit.com/hive-185836/@moronuttom/man-and-his-cousins I was talking about humans, more specifically homo sapiens and here I am going to continue with a related topic.

As we know, Homo Sapiens or us Humans are a really intelligent species. But, an even more, amazing thing about us is the fact that we can organize in large groups. We can build communities spanning millions of inhabitants with a global society of billions of people.

But, this is a real oddity in the animal kingdom. As no other animal is able to do that. Most animals can't even form groups of 200. Excluding ants, bees and wasps where they are genetically a hive mind. Most animals with some sort of individualistic behaviour aren't able to do that. Most animals just form groups of 10-150.

One of the key reasons we are able to do this is because we have essentially domesticated ourselves into less violent and more cooperative versions of our ancestors with each passing generation. We show all the signature traits of domestication that we did to ourselves. Such as neotenous faces, bodies and smaller teeth and all than our ancestors. This is a very fascinating aspect of human evolution that has led to the current humans.
