"Zaragoza" The World of XPILAR - PORTRAIT PHOTOGRAPHY AND ART CONTEST WEEK #110

I present my participation, here I was in a workshop of Venezuelan Christmas Festivities and I was representing the Dance of the Zaragozas, which is danced every December 28 in Sanare, Lara State, Venezuela.

This cultural manifestation is also known as "the dance of the crazy women" in direct allusion to the biblical passage that narrates how mothers went mad in their suffering after the death of their children, by order of Herod. In addition to its epicenter in Lara, its celebration also extends to other towns and cities in the Andean states, including the central Llanos and eastern Venezuela.

Les presento mi participación, acá estaba en un taller de Festividades Navideñas Venezolanas y estaba representando la Danza de los Zaragozas, que se baila todos los 28 de diciembre en Sanare Estado Lara, Venezuela.

Esta manifestación cultural también es conocida como “el baile de las locas” en directa alusión al pasaje bíblico que narra cómo las madres enloquecieron en su sufrimiento tras la muerte de sus hijos, por orden de Herodes. Además de su epicentro en Lara, también se extiende su celebración a otros pueblos y ciudades de los estados Andinos, incluso en Los Llanos centrales y el oriente de Venezuela.
