Hope In Disguise - Pen Drawing
Doing some experiment by recreating a portrait in form of surreal or incongruous.
This one is titled, 'Hope in Disguise' - A dead hope. Despite a long time of patiently waiting for fruitfulness, the hope was dashed by unforeseen setbacks - death
The work depicts a human head cut out from the shoulder - looking up hopefully while the mouth and eyes are open. You can feel the blood coming from underneath and dropping on top of an ancient book.
The drawing was done with a blue and a red ballpoint pen on needlepoint paper. Below are a few steps I took.

Yeah, rarely use that red ink. It has been in my medium box since last year. I guess I used it because of what I wanted to achieve. I would love to use it more and more these days.
