Aquí estoy nuevamente con un dibujo. Increíblemente se me olvidó trabajar por capas desde el principio por lo que perdí varios detalles del trabajo.

Como habrán podido imaginar traté de hacer un dibujo de un artista que me encanta: Marcel Marçeau.

La fuente de inspiración es una serigrafía que está en una pared de mi casa. Descolgué el cuadro y lo coloqué en una pared cercana del computador donde yo trabajo.

Estando el cuadro allí hice un boceto en papel para tener idea de las líneas que tenía que dibujar primero.

Here I am again with a drawing. Incredibly I forgot to work in layers from the beginning so I lost several details of the work.

As you can imagine I tried to make a drawing of an artist that I love: Marcel Marçeau.

The source of inspiration is a silk-screen printing on a wall in my house. I took the picture down and placed it on a wall near the computer where I work.

While the painting was there I made a sketch on paper to get an idea of the lines I had to draw first.

El proceso del trabajo como siempre empieza con un boceto. Aquí fue donde perdí parte del paso a paso.

En este arte, Marcel Marçeau está joven. Luego, hice el cabello. Pienso que esta vez me quedó mejor que en otros trabajos.

The work process as always begins with a sketch. This is where I lost part of the step-by-step.

In this art, Marcel Marçeau is young. Then, I did the hair. I think it looked better this time than in other works.

En este punto voy a hacer un resumen del trabajo realizado. Primero rectifiqué toda la zona del cuello. Luego hice algunas sombras en la nariz, oreja y cuello. Después, trabajé en la zona de la boca.

At this point I'm going to make a summary of the work done. First I rectified the whole neck area. Then I made some shadows on the nose, ear and neck. Later I worked on the area of the mouth.

Ahora hice el trabajo de los ojos. El maquillaje de Marcel es sencillo de imitar. Ubiqué sombra en los párpados y ojeras.

Obviamente, espero que comprendan que se trata de un resumen de cómo fui incorporando los elementos. A veces dibujaba y no me gustaba el resultado. Entonces borraba o eliminaba la capa. Hasta lograr lo que estoy mostrando.

Now I did the eye work. Marcel's makeup is easy to imitate. I put shadow on the eyelids and dark circles under the eyes.

Obviously, I hope you understand that this is a summary of how I incorporated the elements. Sometimes I drew and didn't like the result. So I would erase or remove the layer. Until I got the image that I'm showing.

En la siguiente imagen se encuentran las líneas de expresión en la frente y en el lateral de la cara. Todas estas líneas las repetí mil veces. Marcel Marçeau aunque lo dibujé de una serigrafía donde estaba joven siempre tuvo muchos pliegues en su rostro.

The following image shows the expression lines on the forehead and side of the face. I repeated all these lines a thousand times. Marcel Marçeau although I drew him from a silkscreen where he was young always had many folds in his face.

El trabajo ya estaba terminado. Yo hice algunas sombras en la mandíbula y en los pómulos pero no estuve satisfecha. Por lo que eliminé esa capa.

Entonces, preferí hacer un fondo con los colores de la bandera de la Francia. Y una flor como la que tenía Marcel en su sombrero de mimo.

The work was already finished. I made some shadows on the jaw and cheekbones but I was not satisfied. So I removed that layer.

So, I preferred to make a background with the colors of the French flag. And a flower like the one Marcel had on his mime hat.

La experiencia de dibujar ha sido muy buena para mí. Los trabajos que realizo no pretenden ser una obra de arte; por contrario quiero hacer trabajos artísticos libres donde yo pueda expresarme como artista. También deseo experimentar colores, texturas, formas, etc. Espero que les guste.

The experience of drawing has been very good for me. The work I do does not pretend to be a work of art; on the contrary, I want to make free artistic works where I can express myself as an artist. I also want to experiment with colors, textures, shapes, etc. I hope you like it.
