Fajãzinha and Fajã Grande are two small places located at the foot of steep cliffs where startling waterfalls discharge. Here stand out the hiking routes of the area, which go all over the littoral, especially on the part of Ponta do Albarnaz.
Both places are quite isolated, but they cheer up in summer time, since they are visited by many summer holiday makers who own summer houses in the area.
With a very small population, it has about 200 residents. Despite this, it is one of the most populated parishes in the municipality of Lajes das Flores and the place where most of the island's residents go in the summer. At this time, bars and restaurants open their doors to welcome vacationers. However, the environment remains very calm and peaceful.
Fajã Grande is the kind of place where you'll feel like admiring that green wall and all that unique atmosphere of the Azores coast.

Seems to be nice place for summer tourists just to walk along the coast. The view on the first picture just invites an Artists to do the painting of that place, there is a rocky cliff and sand beach. I can imagine how in the past there were some sailing ship swimming along full sails. Spectacular view from the height.
