Sculpture number 2: Serie Altarpiece "Jaguar hunting a Tapir"

Greetings dear friends of world of xpilar, I hope you are well, this time I share with you another part of the Retablos series, This second sculpture shows a crude scene from the animal kingdom, a jaguar attacking a helpless tapir.

This scene is taken from the Amazon jungle, both species are native to that area where they have various names according to the region. The jaguar is sometimes called yagua or American tiger. The tapir is a mammal that we find mostly in the Central and South American jungles and also in some Asian countries, in America it is known as Tapir or Danta.

Although the scene is full of crudeness, we cannot forget that this has happened countless times for many millennia, and this is nothing more than part of the life cycle of animals in nature.

This piece, like the previous one, follows the same technique: Sculpture in white cedar wood, painted with enamel paint and covered with transparent varnish. I hope you like it, tomorrow I will share another of the pieces that make up this series of "Altarpieces".
