Photo of the week #108 | giant stones
Looking at this photo, you might think that there is some kind of mountain landscape on it. However, based on the fact that everything is relative, we can say about it this way - this is the landscape of one of the stones that were discovered in a sand quarry.
The quarry produces sand of different fractions and we came there for the smallest, white sand, the layer of which you see in the following photo.
In the thickness of the sand during excavation by an excavator, there are such huge sculptural works of nature. They are carried by an excavator bucket to a site near the road. Unfortunately, I did not take a general picture of these stones, but was engaged only in photographing their fragments. Each stone is at least 3 meters long. The rock, it seems to me, is sandstone.
In this photo, it is noticeable on the chip that under the outer oxidized crust there is a light rock consisting of compressed grains of sand sparkling in the sun. The stones are quite soft and in many places they are damaged by the teeth of excavator buckets.
If you wanted to take such a pebble with you, you would need a platform and another crane for loading. We didn't find any small pieces that could fit in the trunk of our car. It remains to be satisfied with these photos.
Perhaps all these stones were taken from here, because they lie next to this mine that turned into a lake.
Весьма фактурные камушки. Интрига!
