CITYSCAPE PHOTOGRAPHY AND ART CONTEST WEEK #066 - Riga Railway Bridge
Hello everyone!
Do you ever have a situation where you can capture interesting objects in a city only from the window of a moving car? I shot this railway bridge over the River Daugava in Riga this way. It was really fun!
So, Railway Bridge is one of the bridges across the River Daugava in Riga.
The first Riga railway bridge was opened on January 1, 1873. It connected the center of Riga with the suburbs of Bolderaja, therefore its name was "Bolderaja". Its official name was "Iron Bridge". The bridge was built according to the design of the Struve brothers.
The bridge was destroyed several times (in 1917 and 1944) and then rebuilt. This bridge was restored in 1951.
I also saw and captured some other views.
