Amazing flowers for Photographing Flowers Week #6
Hello everyone!
The post I posted two months ago was about hibiscus flowers. Apparently photos of flowers are not to everyone's liking. And in vain! Life is a moment.
When you arise in the morning, think of what a precious privilege it is to be alive - to breathe, to think, to enjoy, to love
(Marcus Aurelius).
Enjoy every moment. Take time to admire the blooms. After all, the beauty of flowers is so fleeting! I try to always capture that moment.
I saw @adeljose's post and decided to participate in the Photographing Flowers Week #6 contest Here's the link
So, late fall November 2022. My flower made me happy. I watch it bloom every year. I take pictures and share them with you. I don't want to repeat my previous posts at all.
You probably know that it is a Schlumbergera flower, the official name is Zugocactus Truncatus. The flower belongs to a genus of epiphytic cacti. In the wild it grows in tropical climates of Brazilian forests.
The plant is reported to have a life span of up to 20 years! Wow! The slumberberry bush is popularly called the "Christmas cactus". The fact is that the plant blooms exactly in December.
But in my case, the flower blooms in November or March. Apparently my flowers, this is some particular variety.
The flowers are blooming, but not many. Schlumbergera, although a hardy flower, it does not like the intense heat. I recently learned that Zugocactus can bloom twice a year, late fall and early spring, when the right conditions are in place for it to lay buds. These are cool, short daylight hours, and little watering restriction. Usually the second flowering is not as abundant. That's exactly how it is with me.
I set up a flower shoot. I gave the flower a water shower. Beautiful drops came out.
I took it with a macro lens.
There's an economy of electricity in the country right now because of the damage to the stations from flyovers
Yeah, saving electricity.
I took pictures in the dark, using a flashlight and a portable LED video light LAOFAS.
You can see the result 😊
Hope you are all doing well

Beautiful gallery of flowers, the water droplets always look good sliding down the petals. Nice pictures.
Thanks for joining the contest.
