WOX Travel Contest | Week 7 | Boat Trip to Delft Island | 3% that save lives!

How are you doing? I hope everything is going well for you. This is my 6th attempt to WOX Travel contest. So Today I hope to share with you one of my island tours that I went to in 2018. Ok Let's start the story.
Delft Island located at the Jaffna district, Delft island is one of the most beautiful islands in Sri Lanka. Nedunthiew or Nedunthiew is an island in the Poke Strait in northern Sri Lanka, the island is named Delft on Admiralty charts. The island has an area of 50 km² and is roughly oval in shape. Its length is 8 km and the maximum width is about 6 km.

- Biobab tree
- Growing stone
- Large Banyan tree
- Queen's Tower
- Old Dutch Hospital
- Old Court Complex
- Ancient pigeon coat
- Old Portuguese Fort
We went to Jaffna Town early in the morning because the bus (776) going from Delft to Kurikadwan Jetty left Nainathivu at 6:30 am. We went in it and disembarked from Kurikadwan jetty at 7:45. At 8 o'clock we have the boat to Delft. The Navy people are very supportive. We then boarded the boat to go to Delft. It's a must-have experience, an hour-long trip on the sea. We got off the boat around 9:30 We got off the jetty and came forward. Got our details from the Navy and checked our ID.
When you go to Delft, you feel like you have gone to a different country because the environment there is very different. All houses and buildings are made of stones. Delft is a great place to taste palm wine.

Thank you, I really love your posts about Sri Lanka. This is a wonderful country, nature has endowed it with all possible riches. I wonder why on the island you sailed to, all the buildings are made of stone? This is, of course, very reliable material, but why was it built differently on the island than in other parts of the country?
Usually concrete and cement stones are used to build the buildings, but the buildings on this island are made of lime stone which is made of calcium.
