WOX TRAVEL CONTEST | WEEK 8 - Swiss, Not Just Chocolate, But Art

Surely, most of you, when you hear Switzerland, think of cows, chocolate, watches, pocket knives, cheese, and CERN. There's a reason for that, of course, as over the years, they have become symbols of quality. However, I want to show you a slightly different perspective where these things are missing, but there is much more to our inner world.

Montreux is like a cozy town with 30,000 people, surrounded by pretty vineyards and big snowy mountains. The lakeside area is all neat and colorful, with fancy hotels. It's the party central of Switzerland, hosting cool festivals in May-June, July, and August-September.

Besides the Geneva Lake and tons of music, will also enchant you with art. Sculptures and installations connected to music, of course, but not only they're a celebration of creativity that goes beyond the notes. The town weaves a tapestry of artistic expression, where every piece tells a unique story.

Whether it's the rhythmic dance of sculptures or the harmonious blend of colors in installations, Montreux invites you to experience the symphony of art. It's a visual feast that complements the musical extravaganza, creating a truly enchanting atmosphere.

Now, let's talk about Freddie Mercury, the rock star. He loved Montreux and said, "If you want peace of mind, come to Montreux." He even made it his last home. There's a cool statue of him in the town, thanks to the talented sculptor Irena Sedlecká.

And there's this awesome place called Queen: The Studio Experience. It's like a museum celebrating the rock band Queen. Imagine going into a place where they recorded music – so cool! Brian May opened it in 2013, and it's full of Queen stuff like handwritten songs, stage clothes, and studio gear.
