The Beach.., But Without Leonardo DiCaprio
Today, I'm bringing you to one of the most beautiful beaches I've visited, especially after figuring out when it's best to go. Its beauty can't be captured in words - you must see it. The beach is shallow with fine white sand, rocks to sunbathe on, and the water is turquoise and incredibly clear, allowing you to see the bottom.
Near the beach, there are incredibly picturesque rocks that look like a sculpture exhibition. However, if you're looking for the conveniences of standard beaches, this place is not for you. There are no changing rooms or showers on the beach. During peak tourist season, it gets crowded, even though you can only reach it by car, and it's not well-marked. So if you want to lay your towel on a good spot, be there early - really early because the number of visitors is quite large!
To find the beach, keep in mind that the turn-off from the main road is poorly marked, so having GPS is necessary if you’re unsure of the location. After the turn-off, you’ll continue down a dirt road with lots of bumps. Before the beach, there are spots where you can park your car, but by noon during the peak season, you might not find a spot.
I should add that you rarely see Greeks on the beach during the peak season because many tourists have already discovered it, and the Greeks themselves don't want the noise of the often large tourist groups.
I discovered the beach by chance a few years ago when I was hitchhiking with a friend, and some Bulgarians gave us a ride. After we mentioned we were looking for a cool beach, they took us to a few places that were either too windy or too ordinary. Then they brought us to this one and said it was perfect for us and that we'd love it. And they were right.
The beach is truly beautiful and deserves serious attention. I advise you to visit it in May or September, ideally in mid-September, because it really gets crazy with people. This way, the place loses its charm, and you lose the enjoyment of fully appreciating it. Kavourotripes is located on the second peninsula of Halkidiki, Greece. Some call it Portokali Beach, but for me, they are two different beaches, despite being very close to each other.
The photos are from this year and from my previous visits.
Enjoy The Summer!)))
Thank you!
