Flights - Travel Time - Party time
So, my friends and I bought tickets to Berlin, checked in, got there on time - everything was going smoothly. There were a lot of people at the gate, and since it wasn’t open yet, we decided to take a walk. When we got back to board the plane, we found ourselves at an empty gate and a closed door. You can probably guess what happened next -we missed our flight! 😂
When we asked why no one called us, we were told that because we were flying with a low-cost airline, they don’t have the practice of calling late passengers. Yep, we were flying with Ryanair. What followed was a few hours of searching for a new flight, and as you can imagine, the prices were sky-high by then. For those who don’t know, it’s now almost impossible to get a last-minute flight for a low price - they simply don’t exist anymore. So, our flight ended up costing 500 BGN for a one-way ticket, and if we were in the Eurozone, it would have been 500 euros. For comparison, our round trip with Ryanair cost us 300 BGN.
After buying tickets with Lufthansa, we had a connecting flight in Munich, but then our flight was delayed, meaning we missed our connection. Our flight was delayed by four hours, but Lufthansa managed to reschedule us for a 3:00 PM flight. When we landed in Munich, there was no available gate to attach the jet bridge, and then the machine for the jet bridge broke down, so we ended up sitting in the plane for another hour...
Now, we’re at the airport waiting for our flight to Berlin. Keep your fingers crossed that everything ends well and we actually make it to the city. The party is still going strong! 🎉
