I remember my participation in round 103 with same topic, -- a very huge stone protecting the road (thats a very special Russian tradition) that I posted did not bring me success. So this time I decided I will not dig thru my folders for a matching image, but better capture some nice-looking stones from my collection. Appealing outlook does matter, right?
So... I am not a stones collectioneer, but of course I am a connoisseur xD
With years of trips and walks, I've got away with this box of findings and different leftovers, most of them are very simple stuff, pebbles that you may find at any beach or road, but in time they appealed to me, for various (mostly memorial) reasons, and found their way to this box.
For example, the azure mottled stone on the right is the material evidence of how the vintage flooring looked like at one of the old subway stations at St.Petersburg ... this stone is "synthetic concrete", an artistic work of the architect. Exclusive! Thanks to so called "modernization", somewhere about the 2000s - exactly upon the death of said architect - it was all torn down and replaced with a standard, nice-looking, but terribly identical floor, the same as everywhere else... boring. This little piece I stole during the 'reconstruction' is all that's left... As for the rest pebbles, I can’t always remember such details, as memory always tends to leak :)
Например, лазурный крапчатый камешек справа -- это память о том, как выглядело винтажное напольное покрытие на одной из старых станций метро в Петербурге... этот камень - "синтетический бетон", художественная работа архитектора. Эксклюзив! В 2000-е годы (спасибо "модернизации") все это было разрушено и заменено на стандартный, красиво выглядящий, но ужасно одинаковый пол - абсолютно такой же, как везде... не интересно. Этот маленький обломок - все, что осталось. Про остальные камешки я не всегда могу вспомнить такие детали, память имеет свойство протекать :)
Left to it is a piece of amber, light and shiny. It is too small to create anything from it, but I like it as it is.

And no, this was not pick up from a road. I believe some of these are semiprecious stones, they are the part of the "Kala" game kit. (The game mechanic consists of shifting pebbles from one hole to another, according to certain rules. By the way, this is a nice game, that helps to develop strategic thinking and perseverance ... and at the same time it gives you the opportunity to endlessly admire beautiful pebbles and touch them).

Упустил я из внимания и конкурс камней, а у меня этого добра... да, надо стряхнуть пыль веков))
Ну вот как хорошо, теперь не пропустите сию благодатную тему. Да, сокровища - и хорошо, что для их хранения еще есть место ))
Место есть всегда, но его становится всё меньше... ))
Приходится время от времени выкидывать что-то ненужное. Так сказать, "Отлюбил - освободите место для следующего предмета страсти" :)
чтобы выкинуть что-то ненужное, надо сначала принести что-то ненужное... и зачем 🤣😂 😅
