Branches, brushstrokes of colour (#club100)
Hi friends!
As we did in the previous post, we painted the stem of the branch in a very very clear ocher colour.
Then, you can apply the same colour but more loaded.
Using a fine brush, expand the still-wet paint to make spike-like points like the ones shown below.
On the still-wet paint, apply a darker paint like the one obtained by mixing brown and ultramarine blue.
Apply the paint in different places on the branch.
Then use an even thinner brush to make the small branches as shown.
You can repeat this process as many times as you feel is necessary until you are satisfied with the results of your painting.
Many of watercolourists love to do trees and branches now I understand that it is satisfying to see how by pulling with thin brush there are appearing branches of the trees. I like this colours and ultramarine is one of the best colour for mixing dark tones.
