Mount Vesuvius is one of the most popular spots in Naples. It left a very deep mark on the history of Italy. In 79 AD Mount Vesuvius eruption destroyed Pompeii, and a couple of other cities close to it.
Today, Mount Vesuvius and Pompeii are touristic places. The volcano looks calm now with a blue sky under it. And when you look at it from the opposite side of the gulf, it looks stunning.
