Elagin Island. The summer royal residence in an autumn frame
On Elagin Island in St. Petersburg, Russia, there is now a Central Recreation Park, but once (in the early 19th century) it was the summer residence of the Russian tsars (I wrote more about it here). Probably at the beginning of October, the royal family usually lived in the Winter Palace in the city center for a long time, having moved there in early September, or even earlier. So, it is quite possible that they did not see all this magnificent palette of autumn, because there are not so many trees in the center of St. Petersburg even now. But in this park you can walk all year round, and it's free (except on weekends, but even then you can get here for free if you come before 10:00). So let's take a walk in the autumn park! I invite you all to join me))
