WOX TRAVEL || Short distance travel by Kolkata Chakra Rail

Greetings all Steemians and friends of WORLD OF XPILAR

It was very much over due to visit my ailing mother who managed to travel to Purulia about 300 Km by car. But I couldn't visit her in last one year at her residence which is just 40 Km from my residence by train. She is completely dependent on the maids.

In the afternoon I saw the time table at Google for a train to Durga Nagar in the neighbouring district of North 24 Parganas.

I took a bus for Majherhat station. I reached the station at 4:08 PM.

I took the photo of newly constructed Metro Station. I also took photo of the entire metro platform and surrounding from the over head bridge of regular railway station.

I got into train from platform no 5. It started on time. I keenly observed the surrounding as it was crossing port area. I didn't get proper position to take a snap. However when train entered Princep Ghat platform I took two photos of the second Hooghly bridge and the platform.

The train was running beside the river Ganges at West End of the City. After certain distance it took right turn to reach the Tala Station.

In the both photos above the stranded train the Tala water tank is visible as a bule (diamond) and white line contains 9.9 million imperial gallons (45,000 cubic metres) of water. It was built 113 years ago.

As the train again took left turn after Kolkata Station it merged with the suburban rail line. Again Sun disappears behind cloud.

I reached my destination and meet my mother. By God's grace she is all right and she was super happy to see me in person.

My return train was late by 15 minutes.
