You usually have the patience if you have motivation. And you have motivation if you are enthusiastic about something enough...you are enthusiastic about things, which make you feel happy or fulfilled or you simply enjoy doing them without any other reason or explanation.

This is a pencil portrait of my friend.
He posted this picture and it caught my eye. I told him it could make a good drawing, he said he would love that, and he did because the drawing turns out to better than expected.
