Recluse - Pastel Drawing of an Old Man with process...

Hi all, today I'm sharing a pastel portrait of an old man based on the drawing from a master artist (artist unknown). I was drawn to the initial drawing based on the highlights and the expressive details the artist was able to capture. I was not as precise as the original artist but was able to capture some of his style in my drawing.

I admire the detail and realism captured in the original and if I was aiming for the same results I would have drawn it to a larger scale. I had some problems capturing the details with the thick pastels I was currently using when drawing on A5 paper.
