I'm a big Tolkien fan and one of the things I like to do as I read his works is to sketch out characters or scenes from what I've been reading. I am currently re-reading the Lord Of The Rings books and I have been making occasional drawings, illustrations based on what I've been reading. I also did the same as I read through the Silmarillion and his other books. Here is a wash drawing I made of the Gollum character. My source is the books and not the movies.
