During previous summer vacations on a Greek island complex called Cyclades

i had the opportunity to visit another beautiful island which called Naxos

Naxos is a very unique island and is the largest of the other islands in the Cyclades, in fact it is the only island in the Cyclades that can live on its own without importing any source of food in case of an emergency

...due to the fact that it has a large agricultural and livestock production.

One of the most famous local products that Naxos produces is Gruyere cheese.

The island is also known as a source of a rock called emery, which is used for grinding various objects as well as for various constructions.

as we approached the island by the ship the first images of the classic Greek island construction began to appear

arriving at the harbour, at the northern end of the harbour and up to a small hill is an ancient huge marble gate of a centenary temple dating from the 6th century BC, in honour of the god Apollo

of which we took advantadge of the opportunity to take some photos from above.

Later on we walked through the streets of the island

to reach the main square where a small fountain has been placed.

and of course it couldn't be considered a visit to a Greek island if we didn't enjoy the clear waters and sunny beaches

This was Naxos another Greek island of Cyclades
