Japanese shrine
While I was searching for my next study I came across this awesome mountain scape behind this beautiful building. Had to paint it. I was really attracted to the shadow shapes the mountain had in it as well as the way the light falls on the building itself. The white bridge receiving direct light was fantastically bright. This one was very fun to paint.
One of the neat tricks I used in this image was for the reflection in the water. After painting the top half of the painting, from the mountains down to the banks of the water, I made a copy and flipped the whole thing vertically. After stretching it a bit I put a layer mask on the layer and painted away the parts where I wanted the blue of the water to show through. What resulted was a pretty convincing reflection and I really liked how it turned out. SAved me a bunch of time as well!
What are some of your "tricks of the trade"? I always love to find shortcuts where I can!

Hi @fumansiu
I saw a lot of your excellent work in watercolors.
This is great:)
Are you ready to be more active in the WOX community and publish every day, while commenting, voting for other users?
Within the community there is an active user support program and I would like to see you as a member of it.
This means that you will be delegated 250 SP and daily support for one of the posts from the curated WOX trail.
You just need to be an active member of the community.
I'm waiting here for your reply
Hi @Bambuka, I really appreciate you reaching out to me with this opportunity! I would be thrilled to contribute more to this community. A "daily" post I think may be out of my ability unfortunately.
While I do paint daily, I make lots of paintings that I don't share that are incomplete or just go wrong somewhere, haha! I've been able to keep up with a post every few days as you may have noticed, but I want to be honest about my expectations and I think it would not be sustainable for me to create a "daily" post.
Thank you for considering my membership, in the future if I am able to create enough content to post daily I may reach out to you. I will still definitely keep jumping onto steemit every day to resteem, upvote and comment on posts that I like.
One post per day is not a requirement. Just one post per day can be supported by community curators. It's in the interests of the author.
I think that about 3 posts per week in the community and activity in the life of the community (comments, votes) will also be a good contribution to the common cause. Moreover, your posts are original and interesting.
By the way, in addition to drawings, you can post posts with photos and something else that interests you.
What do you think about this. I'm still ready to include you in the program :)
@bambuka Seems like my current activity is close enough to what you are looking for as a community curator. I'll keep to my posting schedule and continue to support other artists and authors who's work I enjoy. Consider me in!
Thank you for including me in the growth of this community :)
Cheers! & Thanks! 👌
welcome Team 250SP :)
