Portrait Practice

Took some notes from my last portrait and tried harder to keep some of the bigger shapes through the process. There are definitely things I like more here like the angles of the brush strokes. I kind of liked the softness of my last portrait too so I'll have to see if I can combine these ideas in my next pass.

What kind of learner are you? I tend to half-remember things and try to make little mantras while I paint so I don't lose track. Do you have a way to stay focused?
