RE: Summer is coming to the end

in WORLD OF XPILAR2 years ago

Beautiful flowers @stef1. Summer is coming to an end, and here in the southern United States, it is awesome! lol. The summers are brutally hot here, and I always look forward to fall and winter, because they are usually pretty mild…plus hurricane season comes to an end in mid-october.

But I can imagine that the winter in the UK is equally unpleasant, like the summers are here. And you're right, people do slow down in the winter. So I completely understand. And I lived in Europe for four years, and it does get pretty cold :)

The cool thing about seasons, is we always have next year, to look forward to something better than we have, living on Earth is pretty cool :)

I remember from hearing in news about hurricanes in autumn, that is something that would fear me. Have you ever had bad one in your region?

Do you still miss Europe? It must be different both culture and people themselves with their mentality in Europe and US.

I've been through 3 hurricanes and 5 floods. I live pretty close to the coast. The worst hurricane was Hurricane Ike. We were out of power for about a month. It was awful.

I do miss Europe, I lived in Germany. I consider Germany a second home. To tell you the truth, there's really not that much difference between Europeans and Americans, or with most of my experience, between Germans and Americans.…maybe a little difference, but not much. Humans are humans, we pretty much want the same thing and act the same way. But as far as culture is concerned, Americans are a bit more cavalier and free-spirited than Germans. That can be a good thing and a bad thing. But that was just my observation. But also, stereotyping is rarely accurate, haha.

Wow, that is horrible, if I were you I definitely would move somewhere where not so much hurricanes. I hope your house remains in one piece.

As to Germany, yes, I like living there too, especially in smaller cities is quite nice and people are great. On other hand you are right everything depends of people around us and not on too much on country. Although I really miss good quality roads, here in UK the roads are horrible, a lot of potholes and even though they are repaired but in couple of months they are back. I hate it.

By the way, there is a new post from Steemitblog about community curator program, look if you find it interesting. Now the users can apply and the teams will be created by the Steemit team.

Yeah, luckily the floods never made it into the house (yet), but they have turned our yard and driveway into a river. The winds have thrown tree limbs against our house, so we had to repair the house after the storm.

Yeah, we've discussed moving, but living on the coast provides economic opportunity, if you live in a big port city. But we do have that conversation after we have a bad storm, should we move...maybe in retirement :)

I was looking through the “community curators” criteria…I need to have at least a 67 reputation, and I only have 66 :) I guess that I need to work on higher quality content, hehe :)
