Lots of users in here have a very deep knowledge on the crypto world, how it works and their analysis is simply stunning. But what happens to all of us that barely have some knowledge on these topics? To be honest, I have heard of cryptocurrencies long time ago, but I never truly cared about it. When I got into Steemit, I started doing some research on all this and I found it fascinating. So, since SUN project has just been launched and there are so many people in here that are not that related to all this (included me, I needed to read lots of stuff and take my research to another level to feel comfortable enough to write this), I thought it'd be a good idea to make a FAQ for all of them:

• What does DeFi stand for?

DeFi stands for decentralized finances. It has been quite a topic lately, since it's said that it can totally change the global economy by making finances more accesible to everyone and to be more transparent. As part of a community, all of us (whether we live in one country or another) have central bank authorities that take care of our money and the policies behind it, all we can do is trust and believe that they just won't take advantage of this... It seems pretty much like a trust system, right? Well, DeFi is the opposite of this, it brings a new system that's not based in trust, transparent since everyone can see everything that happens in a blockchain and it's pretty innovative, you can always find new projects being developed. Of course, do your research before investing and don't invest money that you will need.

• What's TRON?

TRON is a blockchain-based system that aims to create a free and global digital content entertainment, without the need of having a middleman in between. A middleman would be the party that interacts between the content creator and those who consume this content, for instance Netflix. By avoiding this 3rd party, there's a benefit for both, since it becomes an overall cost reduction for consumers and producers can collect directly. TRON has been created by Justin Sun and it has its own cryptocurrency called TRX.

TRON actually has a $1,787M market cap, according to CoinMarketCap.com.

• Then, what's SUN project?

As defined by Tron Foundation in medium.com

SUN, being completely community-driven, focuses on the decentralized finance (DeFi) potential of TRON. We understand that a series of self-governance communities such as MakerDAO, Compound, AAVE, YFI, etc. have emerged on Ethereum. We hope to use SUN to promote the vigorous development and possibilities of TRON’s DeFi self-governance community.

• What shall we expect out of this?

It has already been launched on September 16th, Tron called that day as "SUN day" and if you're willing to participate in the mining you can head up to sun.io. According to their whitepaper, they're planning to take DeFi to another level, by making a sustainable, long lasting and a community self-governance project. This is what makes it interesting, it brings a lot of new possibilities in the future and it's a brand new concept that sounds more than appealing to miners.

• What's mining and how will it work for SUN?

We understand as "cryptocurrency mining" the process in which transactions are verified and added to the blockchain digital ledger. Every time a transaction is made, the miner is in charge of verifing that it was authentic and will add it to one of the blocks that will later be part of the blockchain. For this project, you can find the proper details of the mining schedule they have planed in the whitepaper.

As I said, I'm no expert in all this, I just happened to check what SUN was about and I thought that writing this little article about what I learnt might help someone else that, just like me, is still learning and getting used to crypto world. This was quite a challenge for me to write.
