Upon this bridge my only uncle worked
and the sights he narrated were very graphic.
Upon this bridge my very eyes have witnessed
the indiscipline of a contract worker.
For this bridge was first a dream come true when it's foundations were laid
but standing here and twelve years past
a flood of incompleteness runs through
and I am much marveled by this incompetence.
Still the bridge has given me over the years sight that dazzle
And clear cut inspirations.
The poem is a cookup for the picture above, one which my brother took. In the late 2000s my uncle worked for a construction company that was to make and commission a bridge. It's really funny how the bridge was not completed till sometime around December last year. The picture was taken on a day during the lockdown period when me and my brothers went to the market to get some supplies.
