A Portrait of Contrast; "The African Child"

Some weeks back, I made a sketch of an African child and I had intentions of sharing it considering the artistic values and tones I was perceiving. But the day I drew it happened to be Elton John's birthday also and as a result I with held it. Today however, I feel it's time I shared it.

I've had this particular impression on my mind for a long time but somehow, one new form or the other keeps coming up and I just push it away. Funny enough, it was a really fast sketch because I didn't spend the usual wandering time I usually use while making it, it was packed with my ernest attention.

In irony, the regular African child is not what movies and pictures paint of them. And even those who are very poor tend to use their free time and lack to explore new fields. It's really funny how the hustle lifestyle is naturally embedded in them. But most of all, they tend to have lots, lots of fun playing on the street and that without worry. The African child is proud save those whose parents have implanted in them an interior mindset.

I am an African child and my happiness can't be defined by the state or the corruption my government practice, my happiness comes from within and it is in that joy that I share this sketch, do help yourself to it
