Upper Borodkino
Well, did you miss the villages? Or not? And with pleasure I rode through the nearby residential villages of the Shemogodsky rural settlement of the Velikoustyugsky district of the Vologda region of Russia!
Upper Borodkino is a village standing on a high hill, the former ancient bank of the Northern Dvina River.
Outwardly, this settlement looks completely uninhabited.
At the entrance to the village, destroyed houses are visible.
But I know that someone lives here!
The road was very well cleared of snow by a tractor.
I immediately go to the edge of the hill to admire the amazing expanses and capture them.
Below you can see the large village of Kuzino, which is now the administrative center of the entire united Riverside rural settlement.
The huts in the village are simple classical, typical for the area.
The facades are turned towards the opening view from above.
One house stands out with a carved balcony.
The road has one dead end passage. In the summer, judging by the satellite map, you can drive across the field to the neighboring village of Rukavishnikovo.
Almost all houses, and there are six buildings in total today, are painted yellow in combination with blue.
Woodpile on the edge of the hill.
The question immediately arose, is it possible to go down the hill and go to the village of Kuzino, for example, for food?
A local resident showed me a place where there is a path, but since there are very few inhabitants, they rarely walk along it now.
The trail was covered in snow. I tried to go, but it was too deep snow. I had to leave this venture until the snowless season.
Greetings @evildeathcore What a fantastic post this is. The view form the hill reminded me of what I used to see in Lapland. Maybe next time just pin the charming settlement on google maps as it was a bit tricky to get its location right and yes, I admit I was curious how far up north it actually is situated. The local resident looks very friendly. I love a genuine smile like this. Thank you for sharing your photos with us here. I did enjoy this snowy adventure. Cheers and till next time.
